Well, there I am, the perpetrator of all this mischief. Yup, that's really me.

Anyway, my name is Kat, I'm 50-something years old, and I had to be coaxed into watching Deadwood the first time. After that, despite a few ews and yucks, I was sooooo hooked.

I have always liked Westerns, but that's not what hooked me. The writing and acting did. After each episode, I'd be sitting there, jaw dropped, amazed that so much quality could actually be on (gasp!) TV. It didn't hurt that two of my favorite actors, Ian McShane and Powers Boothe, were in it, along with a few others I love to watch (Keith Carradine, John Hawkes, and Brad Dourif), and a cast filled out with talented character actors and newcomers.

But it was Ian McShane and his character, Al Swearengen, who defined the show for me, and I just had to create this little site in their honor.
